{ Feature Friday } Ashley!

We’re continuing our Feature Friday blog series today with the person who keeps the party rolling and the brides calm! That’s right, today you’re meeting Team Fleuriste’s Event Manager, Ashley. She’s the one behind the scenes making sure the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed all while wearing a smile on her face and high heels on her feet! We could tell you loads more about this Queen of Fun but we’ll let her take it from here…

Ashley | The Fleuriste

Are you a morning person or a night person? Night! If you see me out of bed before 8:00 am, it probably took multiple alarms and a lot of dry shampoo! { Team Fleuriste side note: we are huge fans of the DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo! Try it – you won’t regret it! }

What is your favorite part of your job? Working with the clients!

What does a typical day for an Event Manager look like? Well, each day is ALWAYS different. But there is always a mix of meeting with clients, working in my office surrounded by paperwork or completing projects for upcoming weddings and events. Now event days…that’s a totally different story!

What does event day look like for an Event Manager? In the morning, I’ll check on the team to see how production is going and make sure we are still on schedule. I’ll go over the event file and the production list for about the millionth time to insure we aren’t forgetting anything. Once I arrive to the venue, I’m usually running around multi-tasking by directing the crew, making sure all items are being placed in the proper location, coordinating with the other vendors on site, helping the client with last minute details and adding support as a back-up for the team. After the event is over, I’ll help take it all down at the end of the night!

You work with clients on so many different floral designs. Do you have a favorite? I don’t have a favorite {I’m attached to all of them!} but I do love when we can create floral chandeliers – they make such a memorable moment at an event!

What is your favorite flower? I have a few but right now I love Ranunculus…I am definitely a high petal count kind of girl!

You’re given a choice of one TV show to binge on Netflix while eating one meal – what is that show and what is that meal? Give me any funny sitcom and does french fries with a side of fresh fruit count as a meal? (No cantaloupe though! I strongly believe it is the “filler flower/carnation in the fruit world.)

Word on the street is you’re a pretty stealthy online shopper – what is your favorite site to shop? Ill admit I MIGHT have a small online shopping obsession but I love that are so many options and no crowds to fight! I don’t really have a favorite place to shop – I typically stalk a couple of blogs to see what the latest and greatest is and go from there.

And finally, the most important question: what is your favorite emoji? 💁🏼 { Team Fleuriste side note: the blonde girl hair flip is a fave of all of the blondes here! }

Would you love for Ashley to help you with your upcoming wedding or event? Call us { 405.843.8700 } or email us { hello@thefleuriste.com }! Until next time…Bye, Felicia!

Rustic Glam

Guess who’s back? Back again? { did we get that song stuck in your head? you’re welcome! } That’s right, its time for another #WeddingWednesday! Today we’re talking about the gorgeous details of Dallyn & Tyler’s wedding.

Dallyn & Tyler | The Fleuriste

When we sat down with the couple to talk about wedding style, their love of natural elements with the glam of gold was very apparent. Trees, greenery and mixed textures were all requested as well as classic white flowers with sparkly gold accents. We have a special place in our heart for gold manzanita tree branches so those were definitely on the list to use as were some of our { and the couples! } favorite flowers – ranunculus, roses and hydrangea.

Gold striped vases, greenery and gilded pumpkins were also included to keep this rustic glam party rolling. The bride’s family farm was a perfect hunting spot for some special and personal details. The barn doors behind the head table, the branches flanking the walls, even the apples scattered on the tables…all came from the farm! Pictures speak louder than words so you’ll definitely want to see more of Dallyn & Tyler’s special day by clicking {HERE} to view the full gallery!

{ Field Trip Friday } Eventures

Welcome to our very first edition of #FieldTripFriday! Team Fleuriste works with so many talented companies across the state and we want to introduce you to them all. To kick things off, we’re taking over the offices at Eventures today and chatting with our friends about their business!

eventures - staff

A brief history of Eventures…Mary Ellen Alexander started the business 21 years ago while working out of her house. She quickly outgrew her space, found an office with an incredible warehouse and has been there ever since! Her team also grew quickly and is a powerhouse of individuals. The fact that they all enjoy life and love what they do definitely shows in their work! {Not to mention they are great people to invite to a party…trust us, we know!}

21 years in business hasn’t slowed Eventures down – instead, they’re growing to make an even bigger impact on the state. They love to promote OKC and welcome visitors with an experience they won’t soon forget! {We’re hoping to get on the invite list the next time they welcome a celebrity to town…}

Speaking of an experience you won’t soon forget, you know you’re at an Eventures wedding or event when the evening is beyond what you could have imagined! The Fleuriste loves to say that more is more and Eventures definitely agrees. They’re the perfect partner – their vision is just as big as ours and they always create something original and unique!

Eventures and Team Fleuriste

We also love Eventures for their passion for the community. They love to give back and help as many people as they can! Team Fleuriste was able to work with them on this passion as we were partnered last weekend at Design Appetit – a new event to OKC benefitting Focus on Home. Their charitable giving is very inspiring!

Thanks to our friends at Eventures for letting us invade their space for a day! See you back here in two weeks for a chat with another Team Fleuriste favorite.

We Rocked at Design Appetit

Last week, we told you all about the newest event in OKC called Design Appetit and now we’re excited to tell you we won! Our Rock Revolution theme totally rocked { pun completely intended! } and took home People’s Choice this past weekend. Team Fleuriste had a blast working with Eventures, Toucan Productions and other great OKC vendors putting this vignette together. Thanks to everyone who attended and voted for us! And a big congratulations to Focus at Home – the benefactor and real winner of this event!

{ Feature Friday } Sergio!

Welcome back to another edition of Feature Friday! One-by-one, we’re introducing you to all of the members of Team Fleuriste and today is all about Sergio. He is a vital part of our floral crew, our in-house photographer and our comic relief. Don’t let his quietness fool you – this lady’s man makes the girls say, “Screw the band – I’m with Sergio!” Sergio, Sergie or Serge – different names, same awesome dude. Here he is, in his own words:

Sergio

Who is your favorite superhero? Dr. Manhattan from the Watchmen graphic novel. I can’t really say he was a good guy or a bad guy, he just kinda left earth to create a universe of  his own. It felt like a “deuces, you guys suck. I’m going to go make some people of my own far away from you guys.” He brought peace to Earth though, even if it was through a huge lie.

What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t working? I enjoy listening to music, drawing and wondering what Whoopi Goldberg is doing RIGHT NOW! I also like drinking coffee and making music.

What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part about working at The Fleuriste is definitely processing flowers. We just have all kinds of flowers coming in all of the time and its nice to see something new every week and learning about it. The Fleuriste gets flowers from all over the world all the time, literally all over the world.

If you could win the gold medal in any sport at the Olympics, which would it be? Synchronized swimming definitely, or maybe ice skating. Really anything with a cool outfit…I wouldn’t be good at it, I’d just be wearing a cool outfit.

What is your favorite restaurant in OKC? I don’t really have a favorite restaurant in OKC, I just like trying new things. So if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

If you won a Grammy, which type of music would it be for? I would win a grammy for best hip hop artist. Don’t let these kind eyes fool you, under this boyish charm I am a straight stunna.

What is your favorite flower? I love Peonies, they’re my favorite for sure. It takes them a while to open up but once they do, they’re beautiful.

Ready to Rock at Design Appetit

EventuresRockRevolution
Next week, OKC is going to have one of the most unique, inventive and tastiest events it’s ever seen. Team Fleuriste is excited to announce that we’ll be participating in Design Appetit!

Design Appetit is a design competition where architecture + interiors + art + food collide for a unique experience.  The event will be held at the Cox Convention Center Exhibit Halls Thursday, March 31 through Saturday, April 2.  The competition benefits Focus on Home, an organization whose mission is to serve families in need by providing the means for a dignified home by creating a clearer path towards a stronger future.

The Fleuriste will be partnering with EventuresToucan Productions and other industry leaders to design a space that will deliver a high end, one-of-a-kind, rock and roll experience for dining guests and public viewing alike. With featured greats like Elton John, Gene Simmons and more, the Rock Revolution theme will be abundant.  From the furnishings to the floral, and from the lights to the sounds, it will be music to the ears for those who take it all in.

In addition, Kelsey Majors will give her take on the theme with a timeless and modern menu selection sure to delight any rock and roll fan’s appetite! Kelsey is a native Oklahoman who grew up with an early love for food and cooking. She started her culinary career in 2003 at Sea Island Golf Resorts in St. Simon’s Island, Georgia. She moved back home in 2008 and began working as a Sous Chef at Belmar Golf and Country Club. In 2011 she became the private chef for a local celebrity and in 2014, offered the position of Executive Chef at Belmar. We are excited to partner with Kelsey and see what she creates for this exciting event!

Rise to the Occasion

We dare you to find something wrong with Kurt Fleischfresser’s innovative and breathtaking 50th floor event space at Vast – V2. Fleischfresser, the new Director and Executive Chef for the space, brought in a team of experts to completely revive and redefine the feeling, design and cuisine (as you can see below)! The Fleuriste participated in the decor of 4 rooms, 4 different concepts, and 1 great collaborative effort to show it all off!

The Infinity Room – Perfectly decorated by Judy Lehmbeck Bridal & Party to highlight this elegant reception space, the flowers were selected to enhance the colors of the linens and extravagant cake (which included just the right amount of bling).

The Skylight Room – With clean lines and a hint of masculinity, Leslie Herring Events went with the “less is more” approach when painting this canvas.

Sports Lounge – Succulents and birch logs accented the new hot spot for all your sporting action. Thunder game from 50-stories up? Yes please!

Chefs Private Dining Room – By far the “pièce de résistance” of V2, Chef Fleischfresser’s heart and soul lie in this room where he will create his most delectable epicurean delights for the most discriminating of clients. We were so inspired we went wild with an edible floral centerpiece filled with hydrangeas, herbs and orchids. New menu item perhaps?
